The Green Familia

I’m so excited to have discovered Just Gorgeous! Not only is it a lovely website to look at and to use, but it’s full of the most gorgeous child and baby products. They have so many wonderful things that it’s really hard to choose just a few to highlight here, so I’ve tried to pick some items that will give you a flavour of what Just Gorgeous is all about.

Children love to have their own little backpacks to carry around, and Just Gorgeous have a fantastic selection of bags that children will love. My favourite are the Dante Beatrix Big Kid Eco Packs (£36). Produced from nylon made entirely from recycled drinks bottles and trimmed with naturally biodegradeable canvas, these are a great way to teach children about the way recycled materials can be used, as well as being very practical and perfect for summer days out and school trips. The Big Kid Eco Packs come in two colours: Pink Love and Green Recycle.

Another real favourite is this Ape Hanger (£11 each). Made from Ecofriendly Valchromat (a non-toxic wood fibre board), the hangers would look great hanging on doors or wall hooks with clothes that need to be out and used every day e.g. dressing gowns. Both boys and girls would love these, so they’re sure to be a great way to encourage your little ones to help with the tidying up!

Finally, I had to include some of the great toys available. Although my daughters seem to have more than enough toys, I can’t resist looking out for new things which will capture their imaginations and encourage them to play and share together. The Kids on Roof Mobile Home fits the bill perfectly. It’s made from 100% recycled cardboard and children can draw and paint on it to create their very own decorations – this alone would keep my daughters happy for hours! The home has eight rooms, stair-openings and spy holes, so there’s plenty of room for toys and figures to be hidden and with so many rooms and openings, several children should be able to play togther without getting in each other’s way! I think this would be brilliant for encouraging imaginative play and at £14.95 I think it’s an absolute bargain!

Finally, I had to include these Miller Goodman PlayShapes. At £69.95, they are more expensive than most toy blocks, but the shapes are so colourful and unusual that I can see children of all ages spending many happy hours making wonderful shapes and pictures with these. I think most adults would happily join in the fun too! The shapes can also be used as drawing templates. Each set contains 74 rubberwood shapes and comes in a box complete with a printed, unbleached cotton storage bag and a set of illustrations.
